About
Neal
Neal Busby has a long history in the Canadian rock scene. In the early 90's he was drummer for Canadian hard rockers SLIK TOXIK. As a contributing songwriter Neal and Slik Toxik went on to achieve GOLD selling status and win a JUNO award for "Hard Rock" album of the year in 1992.
After the demise of Slik Toxik Neal felt the urge to show off some chops and joined forces with Canada's extreme metal powerhouse band SOLUS. With Solus he recorded an e.p. "Our Frosting Hell" and a full length c.d. "Universal Bloodshed". Both of these releases were critically acclaimed around the world and have achieved cult like status among extreme metal afficionados. Around the same time he also got the call to sub-in for Jerry Mercer drummer for platinum selling classic rockers APRIL WINE. With them he toured extensively throughout North America and played to sold out audiences everywhere.
At the urging of his wife Huguette, Neal learned guitar and began a new aspect of his career, songwriting. With Huguette as songwriting partner together they formed TWIRL a band/music production co. and have co-written songs that have been used by major television shows like "America's Got Talent", "Fashion Television", "South Of Nowhere", "Life With Derek", "The Latest Buzz" along with NBC, CITY TV, CTV, MTV, The N and Disney/Nicklelodeon television networks. As a strong songwriting team their songs have also been recorded by other artists such as "America's Got Talent" semi-finalist Caitlyn Taylor Love. Neal has also co-written with other songwriters and has had songs placed with artists like Marissa Mishelle who was featured on MTV's "My Super Sweet Sixteen".
